A VARIETY OF DONATIONS NEEDED There are many ways we can all work together to make our troops efforts a little easier. Below are a few that we are currently focusing on.Please contact us if you are interested and able to provide assistance.
Every member of our community can be involved every donation helps, big or small.
We will need to raise a substantial amount of money to build the Gold Star Memorial at Willamette National. Please donate to help with this cause. For more information on the Memorial visit our Events Page.
Food and Personal Hygiene
The following are ideal foods for when the troops are away from base.Make a member of our Military happy, send them a package.
Packaged Tuna Tuna gives our troops essential fish oil and high nutritional value in a place where fish can be in short supply.
Protein Bars With the heavy armor and gear, our troops carry protein bars to add the extra energy they need. Plus they taste great!
Packaged Nuts Most nuts contain nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and more. Unsalted or low-salt nuts can replace saturated fats found in meats, eggs and dairy products.
Dried Fruits Dried fruits are wholesome and can curb hunger. The high natural sugar content in dried fruits makes them suitable energy boosters.
Blankets, Sleeping Bags and Pillows
Fleece blankets and sleeping bags are a welcome package for our troops. The military accepts only new blankets and sleeping bags. Please contact us to arrange a collection.
Financial Assistance There are many expenses involved with the collection and distribution of materials for the troops. Since Blue Star Mothers of Oregon is a non-profit organization with 100% volunteer membership and privately sponsored activities, we gratefully accept donations to support our troops and the family members left behind.
